Pickleball in Willoughby, Ohio

Willoughby has a strong public outdoor pickleball setup led by eight courts at Osborne Park, plus two additional courts on Euclid Avenue. The city uses a paddle-rack rotation when courts are full, which makes the larger Osborne complex useful for both established groups and players hoping to mix into games. For year-round indoor play, scheduled open play, leagues, and beginner instruction, Erie Pickleball in nearby Mentor is a practical option.

Willoughby's Public Pickleball Courts

  • Osborne Park
38575 Lakeshore Boulevard, Willoughby, OH 44094
Osborne Park has eight outdoor pickleball courts and is the center of Willoughby's public pickleball activity. When all courts are occupied, players use a paddle rack to determine who plays next. After a completed game, four players rotate off for the next four waiting players. If no score is being kept, the rotation occurs after 15 minutes. The park also has restrooms, pavilions, playgrounds, and other recreation amenities. During the current shoreline construction project, use the main Lakeshore Boulevard entrance. The Casteel Way entrance and Eaglewood Drive parking area are closed through summer 2027. Willoughby pickleball courts and rotation rules
  • Euclid Avenue Courts
36900 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby, OH 44094
Willoughby also has two outdoor pickleball courts at the Euclid Avenue pool property. These provide a smaller public alternative to Osborne Park. The city's paddle-rack guidelines apply when courts are full. With only two courts, this location is more useful for an arranged game than the larger Osborne complex when you are hoping to encounter a bigger group of players. See Willoughby's outdoor pickleball information.
  • Erie Pickleball - nearby in Mentor
8020 Tyler Boulevard, Mentor, OH 44060

Rotations, Open Play and Leagues

Osborne Park is the main place for community pickleball in Willoughby. The city uses a formal paddle-rack rotation whenever all eight courts are occupied, which keeps waiting players moving onto the courts. Willoughby also uses a TeamReach group for its outdoor pickleball community. The group code is Osborn1234.

Willoughby Parks & Recreation runs seasonal pickleball leagues at Osborne Park, with individual registration rather than requiring a preformed team. See current city recreation registration for active league sessions.

For recurring indoor organized play, Erie Pickleball has open play every day. Weekday sessions include morning, afternoon, and evening blocks, with additional weekend sessions. Players line up their paddles and rotate into games. The facility also runs doubles leagues, social leagues, tournaments, and skill-level classes. See how Erie open play works.

Playing Pickleball During a Willoughby Visit

If you are visiting with a partner or group during good weather, start at Osborne Park. Eight courts give your group much more flexibility than the two-court Euclid Avenue location. Remember to enter from Lakeshore Boulevard during the current park construction.

If you are visiting alone, Osborne Park is still the first public option to try. When the complex is busy, the paddle-rack system organizes waiting players into the next groups going onto the courts. The Willoughby TeamReach group, code Osborn1234, is another useful way to connect with the outdoor playing community.

For indoor play or a scheduled session with less uncertainty, use Erie Pickleball in Mentor. Create a free Visitor account and register for open play. Groups can also reserve a court, so the facility works for visitors arriving together as well as individual players looking to rotate into games. Create a free Visitor account.
